Frequently Asked Questions

  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are masters and doctoral-level prepared mental health professionals who provide psychiatric care including diagnoses, prescription for medications, and psychotherapy.

  • Good question! This is why we have a (free) phone conversation prior to your first scheduled appointment. This gives both of us an opportunity to ask questions to determine whether we are a good match or not.

  • Payment is rendered at the end of each session. I accept cash, credit, Venmo, PayPal, and Square. For clients using insurance, co-payments are due at the time of service.

  • I accept Wellfleet/Cigna, Aetna, and UHC.

For out-of-network benefits, I can provide statements for reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurer before your first visit to confirm coverage by asking:

    1. Do I have mental health benefits?

    2. Are out-of-network providers covered? If so, what is the reimbursement rate?

    3. What is my deductible, and has it been met?

    4. How many sessions are covered per year?

  • Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice by phone or email. Late cancellations will be charged the full session fee, which insurance does not cover.

  • Telepsychiatry is an excellent way to provide care at your convenience. Utilization of HIPPA protected videoconference is available with similar structure as an in person face-to-face visit.  We set an appointment date; you will be provided with a link and live stream interaction begins! It is available for all of the services that I offer to established patients only.

  • I can collaborate with your therapist to manage your medications alone. First you will need to complete a Release of Information form so that I can contact your provider for coordination of your care.

  • I provide medication management alone, psychotherapy alone, or a combination of medication management and psychotherapy. All of the options above include recommendations for supplements and other alternative treatments.
